Jay Chaney was raised in Mustang, Oklahoma, in a family that taught him the value of hard work.
His strong work ethic has been evident in his academic pursuits, athletic achievements, and his professional life as a lawyer. Following his graduation from Mustang High School, he spent four years at Southern Nazarene University, where he led the soccer team as captain for three years. Subsequently, he was presented with the chance to play soccer professionally. Once his professional athletic career concluded, he returned home to finish his education.
After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration he started his career as an employee of the Oklahoma City Police Department. He ascended rapidly, becoming the youngest 911 Supervisor in the department's history. While he was passionate about his role and dedicated to community safety, his enduring ambition to practice law remained.
Following his tenure at the police department, he was admitted to the Oklahoma City University School of Law. He continued his role as a police dispatcher during the night throughout the first year of his legal studies. In the summer following his first year at law school, he interned at the City Attorney's Office in Enid, assisting in the revision and modernization of the city's ordinances.
Months later, he earned his Licensed Legal Intern status from the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which permitted him to practice law under a licensed attorney's supervision while completing his Juris Doctorate (J.D.). Subsequently, he was employed by a firm to assist injured Oklahomans. After earning his J.D. in 2012, he continued his work in the Workers' Compensation field for defense firms, representing both large and small businesses in Oklahoma. Although he found satisfaction in protecting businesses against unfounded workers' compensation claims, his true passion lay with aiding injured Oklahomans. In 2017, he returned to a firm that prosecutes injury cases similar to yours.
His expertise in defending insurance carriers and some of the largest corporations in America has equipped him with knowledge of their greatest concerns. He is adept at deploying strategies in the prosecution of your injury case to secure the maximum benefits permissible under Oklahoma law. We settle your case when it benefits you and you concur with the strategy. Should settling not serve your interests, we don't hesitate to go to court.
It would be our privilege to work with you on your case. We understand that such incidents often disrupt lives significantly. Although the legal process can be lengthy and certain aspects cannot be accelerated, we initiate action swiftly and ensure that all controllable elements of the process are expedited. Unlike other attorneys who may allow insurance companies to dictate the case's timeline, we proactively manage your case when possible to maintain as much control over the timeline of the case as possible.
